Supporting purpose-led growth: Sensu partners with Commercial Services Group on brand and insight strategy

At Sensu Insight, we’re proud to work with organisations that are not only commercially successful but also purpose-driven. That’s why we’re excited to announce our new partnership with Commercial Services Group (CSG), one of the UK’s largest local authority-owned trading organisations.

With a presence in over 85 countries and a customer base of more than 15,000, CSG plays a vital role in supplying socially responsible products and services to the education and public sectors. The group operates a portfolio of specialist brands, all united by a shared mission: to support sustainable, empowered communities by reinvesting profits into public services.

Helping shape the future of a unique brand

We’ve been appointed to support CSG through the next stage of its corporate brand development. This means working closely with their communications team to better understand how the brand is perceived, both inside and outside the organisation, and providing the insight needed to guide their strategic direction.

Our research will focus on benchmarking current perceptions, identifying key opportunities for improvement, and helping CSG refine its communications in line with evolving audience needs. With changes on the horizon, including new public procurement regulations, this work will be instrumental in ensuring the group is ready to adapt and thrive.

“We are excited to partner with Commercial Services Group at such a pivotal time,” said Steve Leigh, managing director at Sensu Insight. “Our work will provide valuable insight into how the group’s services and values are understood across its diverse stakeholder base, helping to strengthen the strategy that underpins its continued success.”

Aligning purpose, messaging and market expectations

In a crowded and competitive landscape, clarity of purpose and messaging is everything. That’s why our partnership with CSG also includes supporting the development of insights and communications that will help the organisation connect more meaningfully with its audiences, from internal teams and customers to sector partners and policymakers.

“Collaborating with Sensu Insight gives us the chance to gain a deeper understanding of how our brand is seen,” said Julian Roberts, chief communications officer at CSG. “Their expertise will help us align our messaging with the expectations of our audience and ensure we continue to lead with purpose and clarity.”

We look forward to supporting CSG as they continue to grow and evolve, not just as a trusted provider of services, but as a brand that delivers social value and long-term impact.
